New Visitors
We worship a God who created all the wonderful diversity we see around us, and we celebrate that diversity. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey and regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability, you are most welcomed here! You are invited to join us after the service in the parish hall for coffee, snacks, and conversation.
Children are always welcomed at our services. We have Sunday school on the first Sunday of the month from 9:15-9:45am, and there is an (unstaffed) nursery just around the corner from the nave if you need it (but really, keep the little ones in church; the sound of a fussy baby is music compared to the sound of no children at all!)
At St. Barnabas, worship is the center of our spiritual life. We gather at 10:00 each Sunday morning for a Rite II contemporary Eucharist liturgy. Gluten free wafers are available for Communion. Our talented music director and organist leads us in singing traditional hymns–and some not so traditional—from a range of sources. Our worship bulletin will guide you through the service, but if you need help with hymnals and how-to’s, ask anyone nearby and they will be happy to assist you. In addition to our priest, our laity is active in helping lead our worship. Members of all ages serve as acolytes, lectors, lay Eucharistic ministers, ushers, and, when we have Morning Prayer, as lay worship leaders and lay preachers.
Worship doesn’t just occur on Sunday mornings. We also come together for Morning Prayer on Zoom at 9am Mon-Fri (call or email the church to get the Zoom link info). There are also many special services during the church year in addition to the big feast days like Easter and Christmas.
